Introducing New StrikeForce Ring Card girl Corissa Furr…

You just won the ring card girl contest for Strikeforce, congratulations! Can you tell us more about this new move in your life and what this will mean for you and your career this year? Thank you SO much!! I’m super excited about this opportunity! I think it will be a great chance for me to get my name out there in the world of MMA… and as I have said before, it is such a DREAM job. I think I might finally be able to something I love that doesn’t feel like ”work.” Isn’t that the American dream??  haha…

How long have you been following the sport?
I’ve been following MMA since about 2003. I miss Pride FC. =*(   Those were the days….

What makes you different from all the other ring card girls out there?
I could be wrong, but I don’t think there are any other ring card girls out there that have been following the sport for almost 10 years… I’m a true fan.

How would you like to impact women in this industry? I’m always very vocal about my opinions in MMA… fighters, organizations, decisions, etc… What I would REALLY love, is to see more women doing the same, and be more knowledgeable about the sport… instead of always just rooting for the ”hottest” guy in the tightest shorts. I once asked a girl who her favorite fighter was, and she said “GSP.” I said, “Oh… what was your favorite fight?” You know what she said? “Oh… well I’ve never actually SEEN him fight…” Geeeeezz!! SMH…

How did you get into MMA? I remember having a cable (black) box wayyyyy back in the day right after I had moved out of my parents house, watching Pride FC for the first time, and just being like “Holy Sh*t, this is awesome!!” haha…

What are your hobbies and interests? What do you like doing on your down time? I actually really love my work so I try to make sure I stay as busy as possible. Traveling and being all over the place takes up so much of my life, that I’m actually kind of a homebody when I don’t have a million things going on. I enjoy staying at home, watching movies and cuddling with my puppy Spider.

Who inspires you most in your life? My parents, of course. I am who I am because of them, and I am thankful for them everyday  = )
